HISTORY It all began in

1886

in the province of Udine, where Giacomo

Ceschia

used to take his mobile still round the villages near Nimis, collecting grapes and pomace from the growers and distilling them on the spot. He had mounted his self-made alembic still on a cart, an

innovation

at the time. Nowadays the travelling still is a thing of the past, but many bright ideas from that era have been handed down to the present day.
TRADITION With undiminished passion and patience,

Ceschia

grappa continues to be distilled in the

historic

distillery, using the original recipe from

1886

and top quality ingredients, as always. The distillery building was recently restored to achieve a perfect fusion between territory, history and innovation, while respecting the great Ceschia tradition of distilling.
TERRITORY The spectacular valley of

Ramandolo

forms the backdrop to the distillery. Neat, man-made terraces, ranged up the sides of the rolling hills, have been features of this verdant amphitheatre for centuries. Nurtured by a specific microclimate of intense sunshine alternating with gentle but persistent rainfall, this is the region where the great Ramandolo wine is produced.
